Green charged with crimes against a child

33-year-old Cody Green, of Newton, formerly of Kirbyville was arrested, allegedly for crimes against a child.

Green was arrested on Tuesday May 7th at Pine Grove in Newton County. He was charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

Newton Police Chief Will Jackson said, "The child made her outcry a couple days after Easter of this year. She has had a Garth House and a Forensic Interview. From what she said, the abuse began in Kindergarten and ended at the age of 13 years when she reported him. The last offence happened under my jurisdiction. All the others were in county."

ETB has also reached out to Newton County, but we were told that the charges were City, not County.

Green is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail with a bond of $500,000 which is $250,000 for each count. He is also charged with a Class C Traffic Offense.
