Early Sunday morning at approximately 12:26 a.m., a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling on Reece Road, between Buna and Evadale when he noticed a vehicle driving erratically and believed the driver may be intoxicated.

Once the Deputy pulled the vehicle over, he identified the driver as 17-year-old Landon Marceaux of Lumberton. The three other occupants were identified as 18-year-old Cannon West of Beaumont, 17-year-old Bland Wilson of Lumberton, and a 15-year-old juvenile.

While speaking with driver, the deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

During the search, several handguns were located, one of which was confirmed stolen out of Hardin County. The deputy also discovered other items that may tie the subjects to other crimes.

Based on the deputies findings, Marceaux was charged with Theft of a Firearm, a State Jail Felony, while West, Wilson, and the juvenile were all charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon, Class A Misdemeanor. The three adults were placed in the Jasper County Jail while the juvenile was transported to the Hardin County Juvenile Detention Facility. Further charges may be forthcoming.
