Florida truck driver fell asleep crashing rig-no injuries reported

The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a single-vehicle crash on April 3, on U.S. Highway 96 approximately 9 miles south the unincorporated community of Brookland.The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 2:40 p.m., a 2017 Kenworth sand truck was traveling north on U.S. Highway 96 approaching county road 229. The driver of the Kenworth truck fell asleep while driving and veered off the road striking several trees until the vehicle came to rest. 

The driver of the Kenworth truck was identified as Benesalah Yassine, 49 ,from Kissimmee, Florida. Yassine was not injured in the crash.This crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information at this time.
