Father's Day accident sent Kirbyville man to St. Elizabeth

Sunday morning at around 10:30 am, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department were called out to a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1004, near County Road 632.


DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said that a 2011 Toyota Corolla was traveling east. It is reported that a 2011 John Deere UTV pulled from a private drive into the path of the Toyota and was struck on its driver side, causing the driver of the UTV to be ejected.


The driver of the Toyota, was identified as 33-year-old Dustin Davis of Kirbyville. Davis was not injured.


The driver of the John Deere, identified as 53-year-old Thomas Busing of Kirbyville, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.


Busing's current condition is unknown.
