Failure to yield the right-of-way caused a collision in Call


In what could have been a serious accident, a two-vehicle collision resulted in no injuries early Thursday evening.

The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the non-injury crash that happened on Farm-to-Market Road 1004, at the intersection of County Road 835, today.

According to the report, at approximately 4:28 p.m., a 2011 Toyota passenger car was traveling west on F.M. 1004, while a 2010 Mercedes Benz passenger car was traveling south on C.R. 835. It is reported that the driver of the Mercedes Benz failed to yield to the Toyota at the stop sign and pulled into its path, where it was struck.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 27-year-old Conner Galley of Kirbyville, was not injured.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz, identified as 18-year-old Aliah Hernandez of Buna, was not injured, however, Hernandez was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign.
