Emily Y Jones June 3, 1924 - August 1, 2024

A Celebration of Emily Y. Jones’ Life, age 100, of Jasper, Texas, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the funeral home.

Emily passed away on August 1, 2024 at her home.  She was born in Graford, Texas, a former resident of Houston and moved to Jasper in 1986.  Emily was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1986 and was on the Shut-in visitation church committee.  She loved cooking, visiting people, taking care of people by taking them to their doctor appointments and taking them to lunch afterwards.

Emily is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Menefee and husband Keith of San Antonio, Texas and Gloria Jean Perlman of Sacramento, California; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cliff Jones; daughter, Peggy Williams; an infant son; one brother and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3196 US Highway 190 W, Jasper, Texas 75951.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
