Former Jasper County Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan has accepted a position with the Kirbyville Police Department.

Duncan began his Law Enforcement career 18 years ago in Kirbyville and 17 years at the Jasper County Sheriff's Department. He has now come full circle.

Kirbyville Mayor Frank George said, "We desperately needed someone and Scotty will definitely do the job. We're proud to have him back."

Kirbyville Police Chief Paul Brister said, "I'm very happy to have him. He will be an asset to our department and the city."

Duncan said "I'm just going to do what I always do, policing and helping folks. I plan on making the citizens of Kirbyville proud. They were gracious enough to give me a job and I'm going to do it to the best of my ability. I live here and my kids go to school here so I wanted to work here and serve my community."

Those who know Duncan know that he will do exactly that. Serve the community to the best of his ability.

Duncan said that he had other offers, but felt like God had him here for a reason.
