Deputy involved accident being investigated

Jasper County Chief Deputy Scott Duncan announced today that an internal investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the DPS crash investigation regarding the accident last night in Kirbyville.

The accident, which happened in front of Kirbyville Sonic followed with numerous reports from people in the area all saying that 28-year-old Jasper County Officer Austin Guerrero was driving at a high speed without headlights at the time of the collision. Given that the report of the accident went out at 6:45 pm, Guerrero's headlights should have been activated.
