Dallas woman arrested for fleeing from the police on Hwy 96 in the Call Junction area

The Texas Department of Public Safety

arrested a Dallas woman today, Saturday January 6, following a pursuit on Hwy 96 near 1004.

The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 6:39 p.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a 2023 Volkswagen SUV for speeding, however, when Troopers activated their lights and sirens, the driver failed to stop. The SUV traveled approximately seven miles before safely coming to a stop.

The driver, identified as 46-year-old Andrea McWilliams of Dallas, was placed under arrest for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a misdemeanor offense.
