UPDATE: Buna man arrested for driving while impaired after hitting a home
ETB Retraction - (Having a truck slam into your house in the middle of the night isn't something most people could even imagine, but that is exactly what happened to one Jasper County family.)
Editor's Note: This statement was not true. Citizens have reached out to bring some clarity about this event. According witnesses at the scene, the truck DID NOT hit the house. "The truck hit a picnic table and one of the boards hit the house" according to an anonymous witness.
Jasper County Chief Deputy Scott Duncan said that early Sunday morning they assisted the Department of Public Safety with a crash on FM 1004 W near County Road 707 in Buna.
Reportedly, 28-year-old Cody Ruso of Buna drove his pickup truck off the roadway, through a light pole, and continued into a pasture eventually hitting a house.
Thankfully, the homeowners were not injured, and Ruso was transported to the Jasper County Jail where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Controlled Substance. He remains in Jasper County Jail on a $14,000.00 bond set by Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Gina Cleveland.
