Bridge over the stream at Kirbyville park was destroyed in flood-cleaned up by local citizens
During the flooding three weeks ago, the white bridge over the stream at Bevis Skinner Park in Kirbyville, otherwise known as the Duck Pond, was completely destroyed. Rushing water and debris proved to be more than the little bridge could handle.
Kirbyville Mayor Frank George was going to hire David Littlefield of Littlefield Dozer Service to clean up the mangled mess, but Littlefield decided to do the job as a service to the community instead.
The job took several hours to clear. A second group is going to be removing the metal in exchange for the material.
