Beech Grove VFD began three big projects including two brand new Fire Stations and a new pavilion
Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Chief James Gunter

Lots of work starting up this week at Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Three separate projects are kicking off!
Project 1: Dixie Community Fire Station
Finally! After a couple of years of planning and preparing work has begun!
Fabrication of the donated steel started yesterday……yeah, I said DONATED! If you’ll remember over a year ago Stephen Moorhead donated BGVFD a steel building. All we had to do was take it down, which we did in late 2023. The red iron has been stored behind BGVFD and fabrication started yesterday.
Concrete forms boards will be set by this Friday if the weather will cooperate. Concrete within two weeks.
Funding for this project provided by:

Project 2: BGVFD station on FM 777
Two apparatus bays are being added along with a meeting room. For approximately 7 years we’ve met on the floor of the apparatus bay. We’ve had no meeting room nor operating kitchen. Well, thats about to change!
A portion of the donated building from Stephen Moorhead will also be utilized for this expansion as well as rough cut lumber accumulated over the last couple of years.
Funding for this project provided by:
Jasper County ESD 4 - dedicated capital funds to BGVFD
Community support - fundraising projects
Project 3: Event Pavilion
Located beside the BGVFD station on FM 777, this open air pavilion will provide the space for hosting the various BGVFD events and eventually community events.
The core structure of the pavilion will be constructed of 6” X 12” treated rough sawn beams sawn by Clark Martindale and treated by Troy McLeod (Angie McLeod).
