Beech Grove Chief Gunter released statement regarding VFD trainees

24 local volunteer firefighters are embarking on their final day of training of the inaugural fire academy in Jasper, Texas today.

24 local volunteer firefighters who have VOLUNTEERED their time, efforts, and commitment over the last 4 months to become better trained to SERVE YOU.

24 local volunteer firefighters that have taken time from their lives to perfect their craft to better serve THEIR COMMUNITIES.

Pictured below; Two Beech Grove Volunteer Firefighters, Chelsie Roy and Kelley Rhodes Davis. They are two of the 24.

Last Thursday night they proved their academic knowledge with all 24 PASSING their final exam.

Today they prove their skills knowledge by taking the skills examination.

Tonight they walk across the stage graduating and receiving their certification. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME TRAINING THAT PAID FIREFIGHTERS RECEIVE.

Tomorrow they will be eligible to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection basic firefighter certification test.

These are YOUR VOLUNTEER firefighters serving YOUR communities.

Please join us with wishing each and everyone the utmost success with today’s skills examination.

We are incredibly proud of all 24, and in particular the 8 from BGVFD.

This is what COMMITMENT looks like!

This is what DEDICATION looks like!

This is what SERVICE TO OTHERS looks like!

This is what 30 years of hard work to make this day a reality looks like.

Proud for everyone!
