Barbara Jean Dover August 11, 1936 - August 6, 2024

A Celebration of Barbara Jean Dover’s Life, age 87, of Jasper, Texas, will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the First Methodist Church of Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.

Barbara passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at her home in Jasper, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Tyler, Texas and longtime resident of Jasper, Texas, Barbara was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and attended Tyler Junior College. She was married to Bill L. Dover for over 30 years until his death in 1988. Barbara was independent, some would say strong willed. She loved her family and her dog C.J.

Barbara is survived by her son, Wade Dover and special friend, Ami Carswell of Jasper, Texas; daughter, Amy Dover Fox and husband Steve of Mansfield, Texas; special family friend, Michelle Taylor of Jasper, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Jo Guest; her husband, Bill L. Dover; sister, Carolyn Thomas and her daughter, Carla Dover.
