Attempted murder suspect captured in Jasper

A man wanted out of New Orleans for attempted murder has been captured in Jasper.

Not much is known at this time, but Jasper Police Captain Mike Poindexter said that the man, Mikel Young was wanted in connection to an attempted murder from earlier in the week. He was taken into custody at around 11 Friday night at the Prospect Point Apartments on Premier Dr. which is located behind Lowe's and Walmart in Jasper where he was believed to have been hiding since Thursday.

Young was discovered hiding in an outbuilding after a K9 team located him.

Young is currently being held in Jasper County Jail awaiting extradition to New Orleans.
