Artha Karen Adams Robertson February 23, 1945 – March 19, 2024
Artha Karen Adams Robertson better known as “Bit” or “Big Momma”, 79, of Kirbyville Texas went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2024, in Powhatan Virginia where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law.
Bit was born in Cleveland Texas in 1945 and graduated in 1963 from Cleveland High School. Bit was voted head cheerleader, most athletic, and most popular. She loved horses and all her animals, especially her puppy’s Peanut and Muffin. Big momma could cook anything! She was a big collector, loved antiques, and liked to garden. Loved football “GO Texans” Big Momma loved to play the dominos game “42” with her friends in Kirbyville Texas. She won the “42 Championship” in 2017 and had her picture in the Kirbyville Banner newspaper.
For the past eight months she lived in Virginia and enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the deer. We put a deer feeder in the woods so she could watch the deer every day. She would always count how many she could see while sitting by the fireplace and talking to her friends on the phone. She liked to make walking sticks she would whittle on them while she sat on the porch. She also enjoyed reading her bible while sitting on the porch.
Bit was a member of Vision Outreach Full Gospel Church in Kirbyville Texas for more than 30 years. She was baptized by Brother Danny years ago and always loved going to her church where she made many close friends and learned about God. She LOVED GOD! She was even known to ride her horse to church on several occasions.
Headstrong with a “can do attitude” don’t tell her she cannot do anything she would prove you wrong. She worked at Leggett Memorial Hospital and Livingston Memorial Hospital and retired from TDC as an X-ray technician.
Bit was preceded in death by her mother, Lorene Wheeler Adams; her father, Arthur Robert Adams; brother Robert Able Adams; sister Mary Sue Davis; brother-in-law Ralph Castleman; sister Sara Castleman; grandson Davian Cade Roberston; nephew Neil Adams: and nieces Kathy Boyd, Glenda Butts.
She is survived by her loving family, son Kevin Robertson(Joanie); daughter Kimberly Jackson(Billy); brother Pat Adams(Jeanine); grandchildren Johnny-Scooter- Atkinson(Miranda), Randi Beaty(Ernest), Kyrstie Jackson, Jamie Thames, Tiffany Robertston(Timothy), Kevin Roberston II, Christopher Thames (Melissa), Kyle Robertson, and Kayleigh Robertson, Kierston Ralls; great-grandchildren Treye Atkinson, Talan Atkinson, Teryn Atkinson, Eniyah Beaty, Morgin Beaty, Jaci Jackson, Kymie Odom, Kai Odom, Zaida Odom, Kennedy Roberston, Trenton Thames, Olivia Robertson, Lillyana Wilson, Francesca Wilson, Kyle Roberston Jr., and Riley Smith; dearly loved nieces and nephews Judy Dean (Larry) Vicki Fulcher(Glenn) Gary Oliver, Stan Oliver (Francis) Sherry Norton (Terry), Angela Adams, Laurel Hintze ( Ross), and Robert Castleman (Kimberly).
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at Vision Outreach Full Gospel Church, 150 County Road 3073, Kirbyville, Texas 75956. The interment will be private.
She will forever be in our hearts and missed deeply.
