Annual Kirbyville Football Banquet

Last night was full of laughs and tears, as Coach Trey and his staff recognized JV and Varsity football players. This year was special since both teams won their districts. JV record was 9-0-1 and Varsity was 8-3 winning district for the first time in 8 years. Larissa Grissom and her staff of trainers were recognized for supporting our squads and keeping them healthy throughout the season. Coach Allen did an excellent job as the master of ceremonies offering insight on how each player grew and matured through the season. The Coaching staff did a great job of serving the delicious gumbo courtesy of Dane's Crawfish and more. Gates Photography was there doing what they do best in capturing all the festivities. The Crazy Mom's Club (Jessica Smith, Angie Tomplait, and Marissa Gore) did an fantastic job decorating and overseeing the banquet. Even though Coach Allen was handing out awards, he also received a thank you for everything he does for the athletics department and our students. Some of the standouts this season was Brayden Mahathay for District MVP and Bron Melvin for Defensive MVP. Several Varsity players were recognized for 1st and

2nd Team All-District. Multiple players were honored for Academic All-State which requires players to maintain an 3.9 GPA throughout their high school year along with other requirements. The last award was the Wildcat Award which goes out to the player that embodies everything a Wildcat Player strives to be. The winner was Joe Telles who did everything that was expected of him and going beyond that. Thank you to the parents that brought desserts and drinks. Also thank you to the coaches wives for supporting our Mighty Wildcats and Coaches. It was a great season and we're looking forward to next year! It's a Great Day to be a Wildcat! #WinTheDay
