An 18-wheeler has overturned near Evadale. No injuries reported

The Jasper County Sheriff's Department along side The Department of Public Safety are investigating an accident that happened today near Evadale when an 18-wheeler overturned into the roadway.

The accident happened Monday morning on Farm-to-Market Road 1131, at the intersection of County Road 872.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:50 a.m., a Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling south on F.M. 1131. It is reported that the driver made a right turn onto County Road 872 and his rear trailer tires traveled off the road to the right and into the ditch, which caused the truck tractor and semi-trailer to overturn on its right side."

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Alex Escobedo of Laredo, was not injured.
