Forecast Discussion

Scattered rain and a few storms are possible as we continue to monitor a plume of moisture coming in from the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Hurricane Center continues to key in on the Bay of Campeche, with a 60% chance of something to form in the next two days, and a 70% chance through the next 7 days. The center looks to remain south of us, but the moisture associated with the low will be very displaced.

If the low forms, it may skew most of it's rain well to the north of it's center, giving us a good shot for rain through the middle of the week.

Regardless of development-- a good dose of rain will work it's way northward with 3 day rain totals likely in the 2-4 inch range, and isolated pockets receiving 6+ possible.

Tuesday through Wednesday will be the best chance for widespread heavy rains. Plenty of deep tropical moisture will be in place-- posing a risk of street flooding and coastal flooding.

The second half of the week looks much drier as a typical summertime pattern develops, posing your typical everyday afternoon shower or storm chance through this weekend.
